About Dr. mallory

“The two most important days of your life are the day that you are born and the day you find out why.” Mark Twain

Throughout my life I have found myself trying to find ways to be useful and to be in a position to better serve a cause far greater than myself. Today, that mission remains the same.

I am a Marine Corps Veteran who proudly serves our nations veterans, first responders, frontline medical workers, pilots, educators, children with special needs and their families.

I earned my Doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education in Clinical Mental Health at Texas Tech University. With over 20 years of Marine Corps, law enforcement, investigative and counseling experience I am still trying to find ways to be useful.

I use my unbridled passion, skills, knowledge, and experience to drive myself daily to help those in need.

At Cardinal Counseling and Wellness group, I provide traditional and non-traditional therapy. I believe we are far greater in numbers. This includes coordinating with community partners to provide non-traditional therapies and programs that introduce veterans, first responders, frontline medical workers, educators, children with special needs, and their families to the therapeutic benefits of mental health treatment and the great outdoors.

Through these programs, participants can join in group retreats and connect with others through hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, off-roading, firearms training, survival/ wilderness training, and aerial gunnery shoots.

Dr. mallory’s Approach

My approach to the therapeutic relationship is eclectic and holistic, providing clients with a unique therapeutic and healing experience. I utilize a person-centered and solution focused approach with a primary emphasis on creating and developing a therapeutic alliance. I provide trauma-focused and cognitive-based therapies, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Crisis intervention (CISM), debriefing and psychoeducation. Over the years, I found that everyone has their own unique healing process and path. Not everyone heals the same way nor sees through the same lens. I use diverse treatment tools to serve an equally diverse population.

I am firm believer that in order for us to live well, we have to learn to struggle well!

I look forward to hearing your story and working together in a therapeutic alliance to provide a new path towards growth, healing, and purpose.
